The Pull of Wrecks

Wreck diving is my favorite type of diving. Underwater structures draw me to light, history, and the passage of time.

What interests me about wrecks is the meeting of human history and the underwater world. A structure changes after years below the surface, and photography offers one way to study what remains.

I approach these environments with respect for the site and for the planning a dive requires. I am especially drawn to the way beams of light reveal a shape slowly, one section at a time.

I have shared wreck dives from the USS Spiegel Grove and the USNS Vandenberg on my YouTube channel. The videos below bring two of those dives into the story.
