Wedding & ceremony officiant / Eddie Bryant

Your ceremony, your way.

I’m an ordained minister based on Florida’s Space Coast and available to travel statewide. Choose a traditional ceremony, an underwater wedding at a suitable Florida dive site, or a style shaped around what matters to you.

Explore underwater weddings

A one-of-a-kind ceremony

Say “I do” beneath the surface.

Picture your vows surrounded by blue water, with a way to hear and take part in the moment. Choose a speaker broadcast for a shared ceremony that nearby divers can hear, or two-way voice communication through compatible full-face masks. We’ll plan a carefully briefed dive with time to practice before the ceremony.

Hear the ceremony underwater

Choose how you communicate.

We’ll confirm equipment, site suitability, and a communication check with the dive operator before setting a date.

ONE-WAY BROADCAST

Underwater speaker

I’ll wear a full-face mask with a communication unit and speak through an underwater speaker. The couple can wear standard open-circuit scuba gear and hear the ceremony through the speaker, then respond with a practiced signal such as “I do.” This is a one-way broadcast; their voices do not come back to me.

TWO-WAY VOICE

Full-face masks

Two-way voice can be a good fit if you want to speak personal vows aloud and hear each other’s responses. It requires compatible full-face masks and communication units for the divers using voice, plus fitting, briefing, and practice; training is arranged when needed and when prerequisites are met. You can purchase your own full-face masks or I can supply them for a small additional fee, subject to fit and availability. We’ll confirm any equipment costs in advance.

A combined broadcast and mask-communication setup can be discussed when the site and operator can test the equipment together. Hand signals remain part of the dive safety plan, but they are not the ceremony’s only communication option.

Underwater ceremony estimates

Choose your starting point

Planning estimates per couple, open to negotiation. The speaker and full-face-mask formats may price differently based on equipment and site availability; final cost depends on training, boat/operator arrangements, location, travel, and conditions.

01 / ESTIMATE

Certified & ready

About $800 / couple

Starting estimate for ceremony planning and officiating for a certified couple. Choose an underwater speaker broadcast or a two-way full-face-mask communication setup. Equipment, site, boat/operator fees, and travel affect the final quote.

02 / ESTIMATE

Full-face mask preparation

About $1,200 / couple

For certified divers who want full-face-mask instruction and practice before a two-way voice ceremony. Course availability depends on prerequisites and instructor authorization. Charter and travel costs are additional.

03 / ESTIMATE

New diver pathway

From $2,500 / couple

A staged plan for new divers, beginning with Open Water certification before an underwater ceremony. If you choose two-way voice communication, eligible full-face-mask training follows; a speaker-broadcast format does not require FFM training. This takes multiple sessions, with training and operator costs confirmed in a custom quote.

Training has to come first. PADI’s Full Face Mask Diver course requires Open Water Diver certification. Full-face-mask specialty training is only relevant to the two-way voice option; it requires the course prerequisites and instructor authorization. Any new diver must complete entry-level certification before joining an underwater ceremony.

We plan the whole dive, not just the vows. The underwater option depends on suitable conditions, a qualified dive operator and site, tested communications, required approvals, insurance coverage for instruction and equipment, and a safety plan. Hand signals remain the backup for dive safety. Legal license paperwork is handled topside after the ceremony. No decorations or objects are placed on the seabed.

I’m open to weddings, elopements, vow renewals, and other ceremony requests. Share your plans and we can discuss what fits.
